My mom volunteered me to bring a dessert for Easter dinner. I wanted something delicious and easy. I saw my copy of Molly Wizenberg’s new book across the room. I actually bought it the week it came out and read it in 2 days. It’s a great read and reminiscent of her blog.
For her wedding, Molly made several “Winning Hearts and Minds” cakes. I am so not that person. I am having a nice bakery recommended by the reception venue make chiffon cake with lemon mousse and butter-cream frosting.
However, I was definitely up for making one cake for a dinner.
I started by melting chocolate and butter in the microwave. (I serisouly love any recipe that involves microwaves.)
I added sugar and mixed. Then 5 eggs and a little bit of flour.
I poured the batter into a cake pan and baked it for about 25 minutes.
The cake was delicious!
I am still not up for making enough for 85 people.
