In Vegas, my sister, my friend, and I saw Bette Middler’s show, The Showgirl Must Go On. It was fantastic! She was funny, danced beautifully, and wore a lot of sequins.
Coincidentally, around the time I went to Vegas, David Lebovitz had Bryan Corbett guest blog and he gave the recipe for his wife’s cupcakes. She’s a showgirl in Paris so the cupcakes are adorable, pink Showgirl cupcakes.
I enjoyed the post so I picked his friend book, A Town Like Paris, about moving to and living Paris. It’s a fun read for the most part. A few of the chapters I skimmed a little but I did enjoy the book a lot.
So in honor of Bette Middler and Paris memoirs and the fact I am way too short to be a dancer in Paris, I made a mini-cupcake version of Showgirl cupcakes.
They turned out quite well. I faithfully followed the recipe excpet for placing the batter in a mini cupcake mold and baking for 12 min instead of 15-20.
