Amanda Hesser wrote an interesting story last weekend about Michelle Obama and cooking. The First Lady has done a lot to promote local and healthy eating but Amanda Hesser and others want her in the kitchen to promote cooking home-made food.
I’d think it was awesome if the First Lady was into cooking; I love it when people share hobbies with me. However, she’s concious of what she and her family eats so she’s setting a good example for being healthy. If she doesn’t enjoy cooking, why force her into the kitchen?
Why not show you can care about food and make good choices even if you don’t love to cook? Lots of people don’t particularly enjoy it so I think focusing on other aspects of healthy eating will work better to convince people to make changes.
